Carlo PAVESE (IT)

Musician from Turin, he graduated in composition and choral music and he was assistant to G. Graden in Stockholm for three years. Carlo also studied with E. Ericson, T. Kaljuste, F. Bernius. He is the conductor of the Coro G, founded in 2003, and since 2005 he has been artistic director of the association Piccoli Cantori di Torino. He performs concerts in Italy and in Europe and he is often invited as director of choral workshops. His compositions are performed in Italy and abroad. He was the Artistic Manager of the Festival Europa Cantat XVIII Torino 2012 and is currently Vice President of the European Choral Association - Europa Cantat.

The architectural space of choral music

This lecture explains the experiment carried out for EuropaCantat 2012, in Turin. The students of three European Schools of architecture (Turin, Helsinki and Bucarest ) designed the arrangement of some locations that hosted the choirs performances. Two project were realized, and in some cases the choirs actually interacted with the space. At the end of the project, a book was published, in cooperation between Torino Faculty of Architecture and Feniarco. The book will be presented in the lecture.
