David Azurza Aramburu (1968) gained a degree in Fine Arts and studied singing in the Royal Conservatory of Madrid as tenor and later as countertenor. He is a member of the vocal groups Capilla Peñaflorida (specialized in antique music) and KEA (specialized in contemporary music). He is a teacher for choral vocal technique and singing, lecturer and article writer about voice. He is a self-educated composer, his activity being exclusively in the choral world. He has received several prizes in different national composition contests. All his works are published in his own publishing company, the brand Oihu Hau Musika (www.oihuhau.com), and are written from a deep knowledge of the possibilities of the voice. He has also received training in choral conducting and now leads the youth choir Hodei Truk and the female choir Hodei both from Tolosa.

Composer at the following workshop in EUROPA CANTAT Pécs:

Magic has always dwelt amongst us. We turn to nature in search of answers. Our innermost selves are full of rites, ceremonies and superstitions. The atelier shall tackle composers who have been captivated by this disconcerting window to the unknown – such as Mellnäs, Rautavaara, Tormis and others.
