Wolfram BUCHENBERG (1962) is one of the most celebrated living composers in Germany and he continues to add to an already rich and extensive choral output. Constantly receiving commissions and having been regularly performed and recorded, he is at the forefront of the modern choral movement in this country. One of the largest and most substantial portions of the composer's work is for unaccompanied voices. His musical language, which is modern and tonal at the same time, is characterized by colourful harmonies, solo elements, the inclusion of spoken words and a break with traditional rhythmic structures.
