The majority shareholder of Pécsi Orgonaépítő Manufaktúra Kft. (Organ Manufacturing Company of Pécs) is Attila Budavári, who was 12 years old when he decided to become an organ builder. His great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather also used to deal with organ building and they used to work for József Angster’s famous organ building workshop in Pécs. So did five of his elder relatives as well.
Our first new organ was commissioned by the Franciscan Secondary School in Szentendre in 1995.
The year 2005 meant a big step forward for our company when we got the opportunity to build the grand concert organ of the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall in the Palace of Arts in Budapest. For this professional work we needed more than 30 colleagues and sub-contractors, including a big German company. We also needed a stable financial background, faith and more faith. And we did it!
