Merel Martens was born in 1987 and is one of the most talented rhythmic choir leaders in Europe of her generation. She started conducting her first choir when she was 18 and today she is the leader of three of the most successful rhythmic choirs in the Netherlands; VOÏSZ Vocal Projects, a very innovative group, Pitch Control winners of the choir competition at AAVF 2013 and Dutch Organic Choir, founded together with Peder Karlsson (ex-Real Group) in september 2015. Merel is also coach for professional vocal group 'The Junction', winners of the vocal group competition at AAVF 2015. Merel just finished her Master’s degree in Rhythmic Choir Conducting in Denmark under the tutelage of Jim Daus Hjernoe and Jesper Holm, with the highest possible grades. She is also privately mentored by Peder Karlsson and Roger Treece.
