.László Dobos (born in Pécs on 7th April 1956) is a music director, teacher, conductor, sound technician and acoustician. He is the former music director of Bach Singers founded in 1985. He was the member of the ensemble UniCum Laude, singing bass for 17 years. He has recorded almost 600 CDs of classical music for the last 30 years with his own recording studio (www.dolastudio.hu), nearly half of which are made up of choir recordings. He currently works as an acoustician at the Kodály Centre in Pécs.
For many centuries (more precisely for thousands years), purely acoustic and ’natural’ performances of music have existed. Nowadays, however, we have to take up with the idea that it is necessary to amplify music, even choir performances, at outdoor events. The quality of amplification is a factor that must seriously be taken into consideration.
This presentation provides insight into high quality amplification (how to position microphones, how setting up works in practice).
