Beatboxing - the art of imitating a drumset only with one's voice has become a mainstream-phenomenon over the last few years. This course provides an introduction to this fascinating art. The basic techniques, sounds and patterns are presented and explained in practice. The use of beatboxing in different styles such as Rock, Pop, Swing, Latin, etc. will be discussed, as well as aspects such as beatbox-microphones, sound-developement and notation. Additionally the use of a loop-station will be demonstrated and explained. A loop-station provides almost limitless possibilities of creating music on the fly, without additional musicians.
