Participants will be introduced to the folklore tradition of Serbia and the Balkans and it’s artistic development, starting with simple forms all the way to complex covers of the traditional songs from Serbia, Vlach area, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia, Romania and many other.
Example:
Kalajdzijsko kolo (arranged by Biljana Krstic, Rhythmic division 11/8,) a simple canon or "circle" sang in seven voices round of neutral syllable. Kolo is a part of the musical tradition of Serbia and a group dance in the South Slavic region.
