Zsolnay Wind Orchestra was founded a year ago at the University of Pécs and gathers present and former students of the university as well as talented musicians of the city. It aimed to commemorate the famous Zsolnay family who had loved music and had played music themselves. At the same time the foundation of the orchestra also wished to show respect to its predecessor, the Wind Orchestra of the Zsolnay Factory. The musical director and the founding conductor is Károly Neumayer, who was honoured by the Liszt-award for his work of conducting wind orchestras.
