The Pannon Filharmonic Orchestra is is an exceptionally important artistic institution of the South-western region of Hungary. It is regularly invited to many important and renowned Hungarian festivals.
The organization team of the EUROPA CANTAT festival initiated negotiations with the orchestra already long before and finally agreed on to team up in a close cooperation.

As part of the joint work the Pannon Philharmonic organizes its spring and summer programme series in the spirit of EUROPA CANTAT and it will organize a unique musical journey as a pre-event, showing musical memorial places of Pécs. Moreover, all orchestra members will help the festival by communicating the message of the festival throughout the world and helping the recruitment of volunteers in the city.

During the festival the orchestra will cooperate in the performance of the following pieces: compositions by Béla Bartók, Dvorak Hímnus Dedicove Bile Hory, Op. 30/B. 27, Brahms: Schicksalslied and V. Hungarian Dance and Zoltán Kodály: The Kallo Double Dance.

Furthermore, many of the musicians of the orchestra have important roles in the festival, the team and the organizers are planning several surprise-actions that will be revealed throughout the year.
